What is Drupal?
All Growing Venture Solutions projects are based on Drupal, a high-quality Content Management System, a community building framework, and a Web Application Framework.
Features
- Users edit the site directly in their browser. If you want to change the wording on the home page, you just log in and change it. If you have used an online email system - you can edit your site.
- You can have multiple users creating and editing content on the site. This removes a bottleneck of a single "web developer" having to do everything for you
- Standard compliance and advanced features such as RSS are built in to the system - you may not be using RSS yet, but it is now a standard way for people to get the latest content from sites.
Open Source, Support and no "Lock In"
With Open Source software, you are getting the benefit of thousands of other testers, users, and developers using this product and contributing back to it with code improvements, support and documentation. Generally speaking, the quality of the systems is very competitive with proprietary systems without the extra cost or vendor lock-in.
Unlike a proprietary system, that has very few vendors or experts, there are literally thousands of people and companies that provide Drupal services and support. This means you can have a new service provider pick up where one has left off or combine resources from multiple teams to work on one project.
