Saturate Colorado - Support and Tactical Assistance

Growing Venture Solutions recently added another customer to the list of succesfully completed projects. This was somewhat unique from most projects in that the work was not to create an entire site but just to provide support and advice to a savvy user.

About the Customer - Saturate Colorado

Saturate Colorado is working to support and spread churches across Colorado. Their website provides a wide variety of services to the Christian community in Colorado including assisting churches and potential employees find each other, acting as a news source for relevant information, and providing a searchable directory and map-based locator for churches.

About the Work

Bobby Dean, the main client lead and the main developer behind the website, contacted GVS requesting advice and tactical support. Because Bobby Dean is a relatively advanced user he was able to install his site and get a large amount of the work done. We worked together to brainstorm ways to make parts of the site easier to use put the final polish on the site. The end result is a theme customized to integrate the colors from the existing logo of the Colorado Baptist General Convention, new functionality added to some of the views on the site, and a little bit of "under the hood" mysql magic with sql to get some imported nodes associated with the right taxonomy term.

Satisfied Customer

Just after going live and getting positive feedback from the community, Bobby Dean made the comment "We're very happy with the resulting work and it was at a very reasonable rate." As a service provider that's a great thing to hear from the customer. Generally speaking this can be a tough kind of engagement to handle - the exact needs are not clear. However, Drupal is so user friendly that this can be a cost-effective way for a client to work. It gives them security that they will have support and speed when they encounter a tough problem without having to hire someone to do an entire project.
